There is a useful feature in Firefox that not many people know about, which lets you instantly search for content within your favourite websites. Go to a website and find the search box on its homepage. Right-click inside this search box and select ‘Add a Keyword for this search’ from the menu. Enter a keyword for the website, preferably something based on its name. For example, ‘wiki’ for www.wikipedia.org or ‘bbc’ for www.bbc.co.uk and so on.
Give a site's search box a keyword in Firefox
No matter which website you are currently viewing in your browser, you can use the keyword to instantly search the other site. So, for example, if you are visiting the BBC website but want to look up something on Wikipedia, you can type wiki (or whatever keyword you set for Wikipedia) into the address box, followed by the search term. This cuts out the extra step of having to first go to a site's homepage and enter your search term in its search box to find content.
