Sometimes Windows 8 will just not shut down and you want to avoid the hard shutdown of the computer. The best option is to proceed as follows: First close all programs manually. Some programs are in the idle state or some invisible processes are generated in the background.
If this does not solve the problem then open the command prompt by pressing the key combination [Windows] + [R] and try to shutdown the PC with the command “shutdown -s -t 1”. We also recommend checking the computer using a virus scanner. Perhaps a malware is prevent it from shutting down.
