f you live with someone, then it’s likely that the other person will occasionally dabble with your tablet or smartphone. But if they’re not an experienced user, you may find that the next time you use your device after them, your apps have disappeared from the homescreen, your email account has been switched, and random bookmarks have been added to your browser.
To avoid such mishaps, you should create a separate profile for each
person who regularly uses your device. This will let each person use
apps, web browsers and emails without affecting other users. Setting
this up is easy. Go to Settings, Users, then tap ‘Add user or profile’ or
the ‘ + ’ symbol, depenhing on your device manufacturer and Android
version. Next, choose between User and ‘Restricted profile’ (a good idea
if children will be using the device). Assuming you’ re not setting up
an account for a child, tap User, OK, then ‘Set up now’.
Each time your device is on the lock screen from now on, you’ll see
separate icons for each user on the device. Just drag an icon into the
padlock to log in with that user.
