It's essential to use the latest version of Flash Player to combat security flaws but, annoyingly, the download (from get.adobe.com/flashplayer) comes with an ‘optional’ pre-ticked offer for McAfee Security Scan Plus. It's easy to untick this, but even easier to forget to do so, which is where McAfee Auto Opt Out comes in handy.

As its name suggests, this add-on automatically opts you out of the
bundled McAfee extra when you install a Flash Player update from the Adobe site, to save you the hassle of removing it afterwards.
