If you use Windows 7, you'll know that you occasionally need to run Command Prompt as an administrator for commands to work. It's easy to forget this until it's too late. To avoid making the same mistake over and over again, why not make a shortcut that opens the console as an administrator every time?
Run Command Prompt as administrator With shortcut
To do this, type command prompt into the Start menu, right-click it and select Properties and Shortcut. From this tab, choose Advanced, tick ‘Run as administrator’ and click OK and Apply. You can then copy the target and use this for the shortcut location.
