I've been using YouTube a lot recently and have a few handy tips that
I’d like to share with other readers. Firstly, the speed function is
really useful if you want to make a video run faster or slower. There
are six options from quarter-speed up to double-speed. It affects the
audio track as well, which is handy if you want to make fast commentary
clearer by slowing it down.
To use the feature, select the Settings cog on the video and click the
Speed drop-down menu. The ‘Start at’ option is very useful if you want
to share a video. By pausing the video and ticking this box, the URL is
updated so that the shared clip starts from this point. This is very
handy if the relevant part of the clip you want to share is a long way
into a lengthy clip.
By dragging the playback marker upwards, you can also see a zoomed view
of your position, making it easier to browse from one frame to the next.
