If you ever heard about linux and its benefits you probably tried to install it in your pc. Do you ever think that your android is capable to run linux. And without root.

Yes its possible to run linux inside your android phone without root.

Android uses almost same kernel as of Linux. And its architecture matches to Linux so we can use Linux in own android phones.

If you have wondered about running android without root and searched it on google. You probably read about FakeRoot. There is an app called "GNURoot" provide you to use FakeRoot functionality to use linux on your android mobile phone.

GNURoot simply makes its /android/data/{champion.gnuroot}/ root for linux system and so on.

On Official Google Play the description of GNURoot is

GNURoot provides a method for you to install and use GNU/Linux distributions and their associated applications/packages alongside Android.
This does NOT require root.
A regular uninstall fully cleans up after this application.
This is expandable and you will be able to install your own applciations/packages.
Inside GNURoot, you can create a root file system), launch into it, or delete it.
